After surprising
everyone by becoming one of the top grossing pictures of all time, Universal
Pictures was quick to announce that a sequel featuring the return the Chris
Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard was already in development.
Now according to
Variety, the studio has set the sequel for a June 22, 2018 release, which is
dangerously close to to another monster movie, Gareth Edwards' Godzilla sequel, which is scheduled for a June 8, 2018 release pending further developments.
Jurassic World
director, Colin Trevorrow will not return to direct the sequel but will instead
co-write the screenplay alongside Derek Connolly.
