Following
Bryan Singer's quite clever timeline cleanse of the X-Men franchise with X-Men:
Days of Future Past, the follow up, X-Men: Apocalypse will usher in a new roster
of main heroes, including a brand new Cyclops, played by Tye Sheridan, who will
replace James Marsden in the role.
Speaking
to Indie Wire, Sheridan revealed that his version of the character will be
different from the one we have seen before.
"My character is
angry and a bit lost, which I feel like is where I've met a lot of my
characters -- in these sort of young life transitions where they're struggling
to figure things out about themselves. He's now learning about being a mutant
and trying to handle his superhero powers. The arc for the character is really
cool for me -- it's not like I'm just stepping into it and I'm a superhero and
it's cool and all that with the suit. You kind of see the progression of this
character -- where he comes from, what he has to overcome and where he goes at
the end of the film. It's a great arc."
Opening on May 27, 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse stars Michael Fassbender,
Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Rose
Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Lana Condor, Kodi
Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy, Oscar Isaac, Olivia Munn, Josh Helman, Tómas Lemarquis, and of course Stan Lee.
