After a well received
first trailer and images, 20th Century Fox has decided to move up Ridley
Scott's adaptation of Andy Weir's novel The Martian. The sci-fi survival story,
which was scheduled to open on Wednesday, November 25, will now be released on
Friday, October 2, meaning that The Martian will now open up against Robert
Zemeckis' The Walk starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Babak Najafi's London Has
Fallen starring Gerard Butler.
As for their take on
Victor Frankenstein starring Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy, Fox has
announced that the film will move to The Martian's original release date of
November 25. Directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Sherlock) from a
script by Max Landis (Chronicle, American Ultra), this new take on the know story
will follow Dr. Victor
Frankenstein (James McAvoy) and his trusted assistant Igor (Daniel Radcliffe) noble attempts to aid humanity.
