Disney has a new business plan, and it involves more
live-action reinterpretations, remakes and reboots of some of their most
notable animations.
This time the studio is getting ready to carve out a
live-action remake of the wood puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy with
Pieces of April, and Dan in Real Life director Peter Hedges penning the script.
This is just one of many, many, many live-action adaptations currently
in development by the studio. Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book is scheduled to hit theaters on
April 15, 2016, with the Alice in Wonderland sequel, Through the Looking-Glass
set to opens just a month later on May 27. Director Bill Condon's adaptation of
Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens starts shooting next
month, while Mulan, Dumbo, and Winnie the Pooh are all in different stages of development.
