After thirteen years, director Gore Verbinski is finally
set to make a return to horror with A Cure for Wellness, which will star Dane
DeHaan and Mia Goth should the actress sign the dotted line.
Penned by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) A Cure
For Wellness tells the story of an employee played by DeHaan, who is sent to an
European wellness spa to rescue his employer. However, things are not what they
initially seemed and he finds himself trapped in the sinister facility. Goth
will play a longtime patient of the sap that is oblivious to the spa director's
ulterior and darker plans for her.
The last time Verbinski directed a horror film was The
Ring in 2002. A Cure For Wellness wasn't supposed to be the director's next
job. The filmmaker was going to direct Steve Carell in the thriller Pyongyang,
but that went way, presumably because of what happened with The Interview.
