Fans have been eager to see some footage from Batman v Superman: Dawn of
Justice ever since Zack Snyder introduced actor Harry Lennix on to the Hall H
stage of the 2013 San Diego International Comic-Con to deliver a quote from The
Dark Knight Returns. Yes there was that little bit of footage shown in the following
year, but since Warner Bros. decided in all their infinite wisdom not to share, most never got a chance to see it.
According to Collider, the first trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of
Justice is just over a month away from seeing daylight. They claim that Warner
Bros. will be shipping out the trailer alongside all copies of Mad Max: Fury
Road, which is the studio's first summer tentpole of 2015, premiering on May
15.
There are a few reasons why attaching the trailer to Mad Max: Fury Road is
a good move by the studio, but perhaps the most important one is that by the
time the trailer debuts, Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and its Star Wars:
The Force Awakens trailer have already been running for a couple of weeks. Meaning
most eyes will be focused on Batman v Superman and not on the competition. Then
again Avengers: Age of Ultron might be a bigger hit than the first film and
completely controls the month, or Mad Max could just flop, and the trailer
becomes irrelevant.
Opening on March 25, 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars
Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams,
Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Ray
Fisher, and Jason Momoa.
