It seems like the
deal between Marvel and Sony has Spider-Man go from Amazing to Spectacular in a
new planned trilogy set to come out in consecutive years. Everything Sony had
planned, including Venom, Sinister Six, and Aunt May spinoff appears to have
been thrown into the bin, however Drew Goddard (Sinister Six) stays, and will
be penning and directing the Spectacular Spider-Man.
According to the reports
there won't be yet another origin story, and the film will take place in high
school. There was a rumor circling around that placed Dylan O'Brien in Spidey
tights, but it seems that won't be the case as Sony is planning multiple
trilogies starring the same actor ala Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter.
According to the
Latino Review, and The Wrap, the first film will see Spider-Man fight Iron Man
in an attempt to join the Avengers, and the coming together of the Sinister
Six, whom may spinoff in a later film.
Badass Digest also
chimes in and adds that there is a chance Spider-Man might appear in Doctor
Strange.
