Now that the video game property has been successfully rebooted, the eye
turns to the next big screen adaptation of Tomb Raider. According to Deadline screenwriter,
Evan Daugherty was chosen to pen the script for the upcoming Tomb Raider
adaptation. I'm slightly worried for the pick since Daugherty previous works
include Divergent, Snow White and the Huntsman, and last year's Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles, which aren't the most coherent, innovative, or exciting films of
recent years.
Also according to the site this new Tomb Raider is being put on the fast
track, and will feature a much younger Lara Croft on her first adventure.
The franchise starring Angeline Jolie only managed to gross slightly over
$400 million worldwide, so let's hope the reboot finds a bigger audience.
