It seems that The
Hunger Games franchise won't die out after Mockingjay - Part 2. According to
Deadline, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told analysts that he's “actively looking at some development and thinking about
prequel and sequel possibilities”
The
Hunger Games franchise have earned an estimated $2.2 billion worldwide, so from
a business perspective it does make sense to continue, but do we really want to
see President Snow's younger years or a sequel that would very doubtfully
feature the star of the series?
While
not trying to be cynical about it, the idea of prolonging, or going beyond what
the original material, in this case books, intended just sounds like a cash
grab by the studio.
