With production on
writer/director David Ayer's Suicide Squad scheduled to begin any day now it
looks like the search for Tom Hardy's replacement is getting closer to the end.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. and The Killing actor Joel
Kinnaman are in early talks for him to take on the Rick Flagg role in Suicide
Squad.
Tom Hardy left the
project due to shooting delays on director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu's
upcoming film The Revenant, however rumor has it that the actor had his role shortened
and left because of it.
If Kinnaman signs the
dotted line to star in the villain centered film, he would join Will Smith (Deadshot),
Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (Joker),
and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) in the August 5th, 2016 release.
