Disney has announced that director Rupert Sanders' (Snow White and The Huntsman)
live-action adaptation of Masamune Shirow's popular manga Ghost in the Shell
starring Scarlett Johansson will hit theaters on April 14, 2017 in 3D.
The studio also revealed that Jon Favreau's
Jungle Book: Origins, which also stars Scarlett Johansson, has been
re-scheduled and will now open on April 15th, 2016 instead of its initial
release date of October 9th, 2015.
As for director David Lowery's (Ain't Them
Bodies Saints) remake of Pete's Dragon starring Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas
Howard, and Michael C. Hall will drop on August 12, 2016, also in 3D.
