It seems
that one major … in the … universe will have been … which fits into the lack of
any … confirmation (Attention Potential Spoilers Ahead)
According
to Badass Digest, this new Batman has been active for the past 17 years,
meaning that there are more than a few stories that could perhaps be told in later
movies, like for instances the Joker, which Jared Leto will play in Suicide
Squad and is said to
In this new
continuity James Gordon is dead, which explains the lack of any casting
announcement for the part. It's unclear who killed him and why but according to
the report there is a memorial plaque in his honor.
They also
claim that although the majority of the film takes place in Metropolis there
are two major fights scenes in Gotham, including one where Superman is
searching for Batman (probably the one from SDCC'2014 footage). They go on and
add that before Chris Terrio came onboard to rewrite the script, early drafts
included a dead Robin, which wasn't included in the new version, but they
speculate that perhaps instead of killing Robin the Joker killed Gordon.
Finally, we
recently heard from Jeremy Irons, who is playing Alfred in the film, and he
said that this new iteration of the character would be "more hands-on".
However according to the site this Alfred is similar to the one played by
Michael Caine in the Nolan trilogy, including giving Bruce advices masquerade
as lengthy stories. For instances, one "about two competing samurai who come to
blows while trying to save a village", which certainly sounds like Alfred
saying that Batman and Superman should work together and not fight each other. Perhaps
this will be the spark of the Justice League?
And speaking of
Justice League they say that Batman will be its lead, and the one that puts the
team together.
