SyFy
is being busy greenlighting shows, like Dominion, Twelve Monkeys, Clandestine,
Proof and Sojourn.
Dominion
is an adaptation of the 2010 movie, Legion by Scott Stewart starring Paul
Bettany, Charles S. Dutton, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, Doug Jones, Kevin
Durand, Kate Walsh and Dennis Quaid, where Archangel Michael (Bettany) goes to
Earth to fight an invading horde of dark angels. The series by SyFy is “an epic
supernatural action drama set 25 years in the future after a war between an
army of angels and mankind has transformed the world. It follows the perilous
journey of a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of
humanity.”

Monkeys is an adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s crazy (of course) 1995 film of the
same name. Nott much is known at this point except that the writers are Terry
Matalas (Nikita, Terra Nova and Enterprise), Travis Fickett (Nikita and Terra
Nova) and director Jon Cassar (Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, La Femme Nikita,
Terra Nova, Continuum, Fringe, Revolution and 24).
Clandestine
is a creation of actor-writer Todd Stashwick (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, C.S.I,
The Guardian, Monk and Boston Legal) and artist Dennis Calero. The show has
been described has “a swashbuckling space drama/adventure revolving around
mercenaries who masquerade as part of an intergalactic fleet”.
Proof
comes from producer Marti Noxon (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel, I Am Number
Four and Fright Night) and director M. Night Shyamalan and is “about the son of
a billionaire tech genius who offers a large reward for anyone who can find
proof of life after death”.
Sojourn
is about a space detective tasked with investigating a murder on a starship and
comes from producers Phil Levens (Smallville and Knight Rider) and Jason Blum
(The Reader, Lawless, Insidious and Paranormal Activity) and is being developed
at Lionsgate.
