While making the
rounds promoting the upcoming superhero show The Flash, executive producer
Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Robbie Amell, who is set to play another victim
of the particle accelerator "accident" and hero, Firestorm, will be
suiting up sooner rather than later.
"Robbie has
been so much fun to work with, and he’s so excited about it he’s like jumping
up and down. Every once in awhile he’ll just be like, ‘The suit won’t be that
yellow, right?’ Maybe! Maybe..."
But it looks like not everyone
will have changed due to the freak "accident", as writer Geoff Johns
says that Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold character is merely reacting to those
that have.
"He kind of just is this guy who pulls jobs very
carefully, and suddenly there’s something else in the city and he has to change
his game up," the writer teased. "He has to figure out how to deal with his new threat in Central
City—[this threat] to him and his way of life. And so, it’s all about him
evolving and surviving in the new world order, and with that guns aren’t going
to do it, so he has to have something a little stronger."
The writer also adds that "everyone's"
beloved Booster Gold will most definitively appear in the show.
"There’s no rights issues and quite honestly
Andrew and Greg have a great Booster Gold script, and Booster Gold’s a beloved
character, so I would say chances are good [he will appear]."
Finally, Kreisberg spoke about
the crossover episode between Arrow and The Flash and teased some of the
dialogue.
"We have
one of the biggest surprises on ‘Arrow’ of all time on ‘The Flash’ episode. And
both episodes are really important for Barry’s growth… There’s a line in there
that I will spoil because every time Grant said it, [I cracked up]. He goes,
‘When I fight you, it is literally like you’re standing still.’ And what’s
hilarious about it is the unbelievable joy with which Grant delivers that line.
When we were working on the script, we realized that the best part of ‘The
Flash’ episode was this meta commentary on how serious everyone is in ‘Arrow,’
and so there’s a lot of jokes at Oliver’s expense in ‘The Flash’ side of it.
But then what was fun was when we went to do the ‘Arrow’ side of it, it became
the reverse, where Barry and Caitlin and Cisco… all have to face ‘Oh wow, what
you guys do is serious.’ So they’re sort of playing at a different level."
As a bonus here
is a brand new clip from the Scarlet Speedster's premiere.
