According to The Wrap
the frontrunners to play Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme are none others than
Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Farrell, and yes Joaquin Phoenix.
Cumberbatch was rumored
to be in talks for the role very early on in the casting process. Farrell is a
newcomer to these conversations, but according to the site, the actor's name
was thrown into the mix thanks to his casting in the second season of True
Detective. As for Phoenix, it looks like the actor is reconsidering the offer.
Another name that
like Farrell was thrown into the casting-pot recently, is Keanu Reeves.
According to The Wrap, fan outcry for Marvel to look at Reeve's plus the
actor's latest film, John Wick getting good reviews have put the actor's name
on Marvel's crosshairs.
