So far the only
things known about the upcoming Star Wars spin-offs is that directors Gareth
Edwards (Godzilla) and Josh Trank (Fantastic Four reboot) are attached to them.
Young Han Solo, Yoda, and Boba Fett are some of the characters rumored for the
spin-offs but now a new name is being whispered as a possible contender.
According to a
new report, the idea of having an old Ben Kenobi, or in this case middle age
Ben Kenobi spin-off is being considered.
"I’ve heard
from quite a few people now that an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie is in the works. For
the spin-off movies they were initially going to stay away from any Jedi or
Sith characters. But I’m hearing now that because of the popularity of Obi-Wan
(fans recently voting for him on the official website etc) that an art team is
now working with a writer on concepts for an Obi-Wan movie."
As always take
it with a grain of salt, but the idea of having a standalone Obi-Wan film is
interesting, especially because Ewan McGregor has expressed his interest in
reprising the role.
The poll they
are referring is a recent one, which asked what was the best Star Wars
character of all time, and as you can tell Obi-Wan won.
So if true what
story do you think they should do? Between episodes 3 and 4, or before that?
