Director Bryan Singer is once again
in the spotlight, and once again for all the wrong reasons.
A few months back, just before the
X-Men: Days of Future Past press tour, a lawsuit was filed by complaintive
Michael Egan against director Bryan Singer, who according to Egan, had sexually
assaulted him in Hawaii. Egan has since dropped all charges, and things looked brighter
for the director, but now the he's once again being investigated for
claims of sexual abuse, and this time it's not a civil complaint, it's a
criminal one, which if found guilty could have Singer spend some time in
prison.
The New York Police Department's
Special Victims Squad is currently investigating Singer on a complaint that he
sexually assaulted a man in his twenties back in March, before the Egan
allegations.
"According to his
lawyer Martin Singer (no relation), neither he nor his client have been
contacted by the NYPD in relation to the investigation. Deputy
Chief Kim Royster confirmed the investigation for the media, adding that it is
not necessarily unusual for Singer to have not yet been contacted while an
investigation is ongoing."
Twentieth
Century Fox seems keen on having X-Men: Apocalypse released in 2016, and with
the director caught once again in legal entanglements, they might start looking
for someone to replace him.
What do
you think?
