Due to some
legal entanglements Bryan Singer as stepped down from all promotional appearances
for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, but before he got out, EmpireMagazine managed to talk with the director, who shed some light on the little
girl that appears in a tv spot (below) and whether or not she is Scarlet Witch.
"Is
that the Scarlet Witch? No, that's his little sister," the director
said. "I even had a line which I cut, where Quicksilver's mother says
to the little girl, 'Go up and bug your sister,' and the little girl says, 'She
bugs me!' You never see the older sister, but it was to imply that there is an
older sister for comic book fans. I ended up cutting it."
Many fans were
hoping to see Scarlet Witch in this latest entry in the X-Men franchise and
perhaps the one after, but it seems that director looking at her brother,
Quicksilver, to be the one to appear in the sequel.
"Even though our Quicksilver is not a main character like in The
Avengers, it's a character there's a lot of thought and concern about and it's
a character I'd like to explore further in the sequel."
