News from
the Avengers: Age of Ultron front have been lacking, but Empire Magazine
recently tracked down producer Kevin Feige, and director Joss Whedon and
managed to get some juicy bits of new information out of them.
"It's more epic and in
other ways it's more noirish and suspect and devious and specific," Whedon teased, before adding that, "Ultron...he's got a touch of the apocalypse in him."
Well that's ominous!
Earlier this month Marvel unveiled a
poster featuring Earth's Mightiest Heroes battling a horde of Ultrons, in what
looked a battle for survival. Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige commented
on that saying that:
"Ultron was the villain
Joss wanted, from midway through production on the first film, to have serious
repercussions for The Avengers. We unveiled a poster here, which is nothing but
Ultron after Ultron after Ultron clawing at the beginning to defeat all of our
Avengers. That's what a lot of this movie is about."
While not
going into details, Feige, and Whedon then talked about the footage shown at
SDCC'2014, particularly about that "little" piece where Hulk and a
Hulkbuster are going at it.
"It's a bespoke suit.
The back-up plan in case things go awry."
Whedon was a little more open and
talked about the relationship between the "Science Bros", Tony Stark
and Bruce Banner.
"The Hulkbuster is
from after my time [as a reader], but even I knew what a big deal it was. It
makes sense because there's no one who can really go up against Hulk, but more
importantly, those guys are best friends, so what that battle is and what it
means is fascinating to me."
