Following on earlier reports that Marvel Studios were second-guessing
having Captain Marvel make a cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron, a new but unconfirmed
piece of information regarding not only Age of Ultron but also the future of the
Avengers has been revealed by Badass Digest.
With the addition of Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and
Vision to the Avengers, Marvel's cinematic universe becomes a bit crowded, and
practically unmanageable. Imagine Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye,
Black Widow, Thor, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Ms. Marvel (rumored),
Doctor Strange, Ant-Man in one movie. Cool? Yes! but not practical, I mean how
would you divide the screen time for each character?
Well according to Badass Digest, Marvel has come up
with a solution, which is
having Captain America assemble a new team at the end
of Avengers 2. They also say that the scene where this all happens hasn't been
shot yet.
"This
isn't a big part of the movie. This new version of The Avengers isn't involved
in an action sequence or anything. So changing the characters can be done up
until the last minute without hurting the story itself. What this bit
accomplishes is basically pointing the way to Phase Three, saying "These
characters will be important."
The site goes on to confirm that we won't get to see
Black Panther when Ultron goes to Wakanda to get some vibranium. Regarding Ms.
Marvel (as it is specified in the script), they say that Marvel believes that
the character will have a major role in the future of the MCU, so dropping her
even if at the end of Age of Ultron wouldn't do the character justice.
"There's
enough time passed between the end of the action in Age of Ultron and that
final scene for Carol Danvers to get powers, a costume and have a career as a
hero, but the powers-that-be aren't sure how this will play on film. Will
dropping her in just be baffling to audiences?"
