Later this year, Marvel and Netflix's first live-action
series, Daredevil, will start filming in New York City. The current run of the
comics is being written by Mark Waid, who while attending the Motor City Comic
Con, spoke about the show.
“It’s in good hands, I don’t want to overstate, but
I’ve been asked to be involved on some level.”
It will be interesting to see what kind of
involvement he will have on the show. He might write a couple of episodes or act
as a producer.
No casting has yet been
announced, but expect something soon.
Another of Marc Waid's titles,
was the Indestructible Hulk run, which ended a while ago,
and it saw Bruce Banner working for S.H.I.E.L.D., while using his other greener
half to smash! Waid was asked about the adaptation of this comic to movie,
which at this point sounds more like a pipedream, given that there is no more S.H.I.E.L.D.
in the MCU, unless something changes in either the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,
Captain America 3 or in the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“There’s rumors, sadly that’s all I know. The thing
about Marvel publishing, is that Marvel Studios has a hands-off approach with
it — which is great. The Marvel films don’t dictate how the stories go in the
comics, they realize that the tail shouldn’t wag the dog. But, Marvel
publishing is sometimes the last people to know what they do in the movies.”
I still defend
that this is the perfect time to do another Hulk standalone movie, given that
he is self-aware and in control.
What do you
think?
