As part of the new deal with Universal Pictures,
Legendary is getting ready to breathe new life into the long in development,
feature film adaptation of the popular 70's show Kung Fu.
Bill Paxton was previously attached to helm John
McLaughlin's script, but dropped the project. Other writers like Cory Goodman (Priest)
and Rich Wilkes (Marvel's Iron Fist for Netflix) were also attached at one
point but have departed from the project.
Before things get further ahead, producers Jon Jashni,
Scott Mednick, Thomas Tull and Vincent Newman are looking for a director to
"restructure the project," and according to The Tracking Board, they
have plans for the show to be set in modern times.
Kung Fu starred David Carradine as a monk travelling
across America looking for his father and kicking some serious ass along the
way.
