The last time we
heard a peep out of the Assassin's Creed adaptation was in January of last year
when 20th Century Fox was reportedly eyeing Safe House director Daniel Espinosa
to helm the big budget adaptation starring Michael Fassbender, who is also one
of the producers.
Now Deadline is
reporting that screenwriters Bill Collage and Adam Cooper, whom recently worked
on Ridley Scott's upcoming biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings will rewrite
Michael Lesslie's screenplay.
Assassin's Creed
follows “bartender who is captured by a secret
corporation with ties to the Knights Templar, and learns his ancestors were
trained assassins. He's sent back in time to retrieve historical artifacts.”
Assassin's Creed
will open on August 7th, 2015 so we should start hearing official confirmations
about cast, director, etc... sooner rather than later.
