Last year Sony Pictures made fans go berserk
when they announced the release dates for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (June 10,
2016) and 4 (May 4 2018), but also the development of two spin-off films, the
Sinister Six and Venom.
Now producer Matt Tolmach says that we will be
getting the two spin-off's before the fourth entry in the franchise hits
theaters, and that perhaps one of them might even take that place.
"Before we know what we do with
Spider-Man 4," Tolmach said in an interview with Den of Geek. "We're going to do Sinister Six, Venom
and Spider-Man 3. There is going to be a lot of crossover in those movies. So
we're just not at Spider-Man 4, because we still have a whole other Spider-Man
movie and two other movies. So we don't know yet what [Spider-Man 4] is going
to be."
Roberto Orci, Ed Solomon and Alex Kurtzman
will pen Venom, which will be directed by Kurtzman, as for The Sinister Six, Drew
Goddard as been tasked to both write and direct.
