The final entry in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy may change its title from The Hobbit: There and Back Again to The Hobbit: Into The Fire.
The original plan for The Hobbit franchise was to do
two movies based on the one book by J.R.R. Tolkien, with the first one called The
Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and the second, The Hobbit: There and Back Again. When
the decision was made to do a third movie, the second movie became titled The
Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug while the third one maintained its The Hobbit:
There and Back Again title, but now it seems that things might have changed.
According to TheOneRing.net, New Line has registered The
Hobbit: Into The Fire, and although no official word has come out, the website
was the one that broke the news about the title for Desolation of Smaug so let's
have a little faith in them.
However, because neither the studio or Jackson have
yet spoken about it, we should assume other possibilities like movie tie-ins (books,
games, toy lines, etc...).
Either way the final installment in The Hobbit
franchise hits theaters on December 17th.
