Back in January Warner Bros. announced that they were
going to delay the Man of Steel sequel release date a year, from 2015 to 2016.
The date the studio chose was the same as one untitled Marvel movie, which was
confirmed last month has being Captain America 3.
After Marvel's announcement, many, including me, thought
that the clash of having two competing tentpoles opening on the same day would
be box office suicide for one of them and that the weakest should move. In all
honesty i thought Captain America 3 was the weakest, considering that Man of
Steel sequel has Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and more under the same roof,
but i'm glad to say i was wrong and that (probably) given the huge opening
weekend of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel is sticking with the release
date for Cap 3.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are returning for the
third entry in the franchise as are screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen
McFeely.
