It took a while but it seems that
Warren Beatty’s next directorial effort is starting to gain some traction. It
has been sixteen, yes, sixteen years since Beatty’s last directorial endeavor
with Bulworth back in 1998, and according to Deadline Beatty will play eccentric
millionaire Howard Hughes and the film will about a love story between Hughes
assistant (Alden Ehrenreich – Beautiful Creatures) and a young woman (Lilly
Collins). Deadline also says that Beatty “already shot a small amount of film
on the picture but it starts rolling in earnest today. Beatty’s wife Annette
Bening and Matthew Broderick and other surprises are expected.”
The film has a reported budget of
$ 26.7 million and at one time it included in the cast Andrew Garfield, Alec
Baldwin, Shia Labeouf, Jack Nicholson, Evan Rachel Wood, Rooney Mara, and wife
Annette Bening. So besides his wife actress Annette Bening, are these actors
the “other surprises”?
I’m waiting to see what comes out
of Beattie’s “return” to filmmaking and considering that his last work as an
actor in a movie was in 2001, acting.
