Writer and director Edgar Wright is currently on pre-production for the upcoming first Marvel Phase 3 movie, Ant-Man, which got its release date pulled back from the Fall of 2015 and will now share the summer of 2015 with Avengers: Age of Ultron. Because of the earlier release date, news about casting and possible plot points may start to be appearing sooner rather than later.
About
a month ago, news that actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd were in talks
for the film stormed the net, with some fans hoping for Levitt while other were
cheering for Rudd, but we were assuming that the actors were up for the same
role, now it seems that they were for different roles and could be in the film
together.
A
leaked casting call sheet is making its way around the web, and contains some
information regarding not only Marvel’s cinematic universe but also its tv
universe. The leaked sheet was discovered by BB, who previously discovered and
announced that Dave Bautista was up for the role of Drax the Destroyer in James
Gunn’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. Just to clarify this is a rumor and
anyone with a little bit of patience can create a document like and announce it
has true, but if it is true, then what a scoop.
In
the list of casting sheets there is a casting call for an upcoming episode of
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. looking for various non-speaking roles, but in
the same list there is a casting call for an untitled Marvel Studios feature,
which can be Ant-Man not only because of the timing but also because apparently
both casting directors are currently working on Ant-Man.

Wright
pretty much confirmed that Henry Pym would be in the film, how big the role
will be is another thing altogether, and since Wright described this film has a
heist movie, there are some supported conclusions that we can take even if not
official in any kind, shape or form.
So
what are the conclusions you might ask, well, if this is a heist movie then
what if Pym is not Ant-Man but Scott Lang is.
Let’s
begin. Scott Lang was an electronic engineer, who unable to support his family turns
to crime. Gets caught, is sentenced to 5 years but gets out earlier for good
behavior. After getting out he gets a job at Stark International’s design
department. One day his daughter gets very sick and Lang uses his past experiences
to steal Pym’s Ant-Man suit and rescue a doctor who could save his daughter’s
life.
After
the job is done and with his daughter’s life no longer in peril, Lang decides
to turn himself over to the authorities, but Pym recognizes his hero potential
and lets him keep the suit and continue to fight evil as the new Ant-Man.
If
the casting sheet is authentic then the “young girl” mentioned could be Cassie,
Lang’s daughter.
