Marvel recently announced that writer and director Drew Goddard would be writing the live action Daredevil tv series for their team up with Netflix. Today another new announcement has been made, writer Melissa Rosenberg (Dexter and The Twilight Saga) will not only write the Jessica Jones live action tv series but also executive produce it.
Deadline
reports that Rosenberg was originally tapped three years ago to write the
Jessica Jones tv series for ABC, but the project ultimately failed.
Jessica
Jones was “created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, [Jones] is a
superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her
hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up
helping people and assisting other superheroes.”
Two
down, two to go, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. All four series will have their
conclusions in a mini-series where this bunch of misfit heroes will team up and
form The Defenders. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said recently that if
these four series become a hit, then a feature film for every single one of
them would be a possibility.
