Universal Pictures has decided to scrap Term Life. The film was set to star Vince Vaughn as a professional thief, who after being targeted by the mob, decides to flee with his daughter and wait for his life insurance policy to kick in so his daughter can become the beneficiary.
The
last we heard of the project, director Peter Billingsley (Couples Retreat) was
onboard to direct so was actress Hailee Steinfeld, who was supposed to play
Vaughn’s daughter.
Per
Deadline Universal has opted not to greenlight the project, maybe because of
recent changes at the executive level.
Vaughn
was going to produce the film through his Wild West Picture Production banner,
so at this point it’s possible that he will try and find a new studio that will
take the project.
The
actor is currently filming the comedy Business Trip with Dave Franco and will
next be seen in Delivery Man, which opens next month.
