Sony
Pictures just bought the rights for the weird tale of maple syrup theft. The
real life event, was first reported by Anne Sutherland of the Montreal Gazette
in 2012, and is about the heist of over $20 million worth of maple syrup, from
the Quebec’s Federation of Maple Syrup Producers. Twenty individuals have since
then been arrested.
So
far the yet untitled film about the syrup has Horrible Bosses’ director Seth
Gordon at the helm and Jason Segel starring.
