At the panel for Guardians of the Galaxy were Kevin Feige, James Gunn, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, David Bautista, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Karen Gillan and Michel Rooker.
- Chris Pratt said that regarding him getting in shape for the role, “it was just weir timing, I got a tapeworm”. He then described his character, Star-Lord as “this guy who lives in space”, who “ had a hard time as a kid and now he goes around space making out with alien girls just being a rogue, and through teaming up with these guys he finds a better purpose for himself.”
- Zoe Saldana, who is playing Gamora, said that; “I’ve been blue once, so I thought why not try green?” she added that Marvel not only gives the audience an awesome adventure but also gives the actors the challenge to embody such amazing characters.
- Then came time for Bautista, who’s playing Drax the Destroyer to say that; “I’m still to the point where I go to set every day and I can’t believe I got this job.” He added that he fought really hard for the role, and that when he got it he broke down in tears. Feige said that people are going to “freak” out when they see him in the movie.
- Actress Karen Gillian, who is playing Nebula was singled out because her character is supposed to be bald, at which Gilliam responded by taking off her wig and throwing it to the audience, only to reveal that she had to shave her head for the role. Gilliam said that she was a little afraid of shaving her head, because she thought she would look like an overgrown fetus.
- Benicio Del Toro said that he just arrived and that this was the first time meeting the cast.
- Lee Pace who is playing Ronan, said that he is “a very complicated Kree”.
- After that, they showed a clip from the film, and although they have only been shooting for about 10 to 13 days, it looked very cool. The clip showed the entire team, Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon being tossed in jail by Rhomann Dey, played by John C. Reilly.
