Apparently
the proof of concept scene that director Gus Van Sant shot with actor Alex
Pettyfer did not convince the top brass at Universal and Focus Features, that he
was the wright man for the job.
Recently
and according to THR news came to light that director Joe Wright as emerged as
a frontrunner to direct the film. It’s not really a surprise that Wright is a
candidate for the job, since he has already done some movies with Focus
Features, for instance Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, Hanna and Anna
Karenina. But if he is going to direct it than the film might take some time to
arrive at theaters, since Wright is linked to the Neil Gaiman adaptation of The Ocean at the End of the Lane and a Houdini biopic.
