Because the
Transformers franchise was such a big hit in the People’s Republic of China,
specially the third installment of the series, Dark of the Moon, Paramount
Pictures announced that it is partnering with China Movie Channel and Jiaflix
Enterprises, which will establish Transformers 4 in the World’s most populous
nation. Has with most of China’s enterprises, China Movie Channel is run by the
government and its State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
The two Chinese companies
will help Michael Bay, the director in the "selection of filming sites within China,
theatrical promotion and possible postproduction activities in China as well as
casting of Chinese actors and actresses in the film."
Transformers 4
is not alone in this strategic decision, Marvel’s Iron Man 3 has done the same
thing, since it was partially shot in Beijing and was financed in part by DMG
Entertainment also from Beijing, it will released a special cut of the movie
for China, which include “significant Chinese elements” and a “specially
prepared bonus footage,” as well as an special appearance by one of the country’s
biggest movie stars, Fan Bingbing, which will portrait the wife of Dr. Wu.
Actor Will
Arnett, from Arrested Development and Up All Night, has joined the new Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles cast. Arnett’s role in the movie is still unclear, but
there aren’t many spots open, since Megan Fox will be portraying April O’Neil,
Alan Ritchson will be Raphael, Noel Fisher is Michelangelo, Pete Ploszek is
Leonardo and Jeremy Howard is Donatello. So either he will be Burne Thompson,
April O’Neil boss, Casey (doubtful), Splinter or an alien.
The company responsible
for the Twilight films, Summit Entertainment, has chosen an original sci-fi pitch
called, The Infinity Principle, from the screenwriter Arash Amel (Grace of Monaco).
The story is about a physicist, which accidentally causes the fabric of the
universe to come apart, after discovering the secret of time travel.
Actor Andy
Serkis talks about playing the character Gollum on The Hobbit: An Unexpected
Journey and if he is or isn’t going to appear in the second movie. He also talks
