G.I. Joe: Retaliation - Review

Well critics are a tough bunch to please. In the first movie, G.I.  Joe: The Rise of Cobra, most of them said that the movie was cartoonish, bad written, over the top with bad acting, like the action figures were playing themselves, but at least it was somewhat funny. But despite that the movie did well at the box office, and the studios thought it deserved a sequel and so they came up with G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and because they listened to the critics, some measures needed to be taken, like changing the director, writers and adding some new Joes to the mix. The new director, John M. Chu said that this movie was “grittier” than the first, because that’s what the fans wanted to see, but now the critics say that the acting has improved, it’s more “real”, and they are not really sure if that’s what this movie needed (make up your minds).

So what’s the review on G.I. Joe: Retaliation?

Here at Galactic News One we think that the movie does what it’s set out to do. Put a smile on everyone’s faces while they eat a bucket of popcorn and drink a soda, and for that it’s a 3 out of 5 in our book. Its entertainment and nothing more, don’t expect to get out of there with some brilliant insight on who I am, where I came from and where I’m going, just seat down, relax and enjoy the movie, directed by John M. Chu, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and starred by Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, Bruce Willis as General Joe Colton, Channing Tatum as Duke, Adrianne Palicki as Jaye, DJ.Cotrona as Flint, Ray Stevenson as Firefly, Byung-hun Lee as Storm Shadow, Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Elodie Yung as Jinx, Jonathan Pryce as the President, Luke Bracey as Cobra Commander and RZA as the Blind Master.
