Parks and Recreation, Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty actor Chris Pratt will be playing Peter Quill aka Star Lord in the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy.
The character first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 in 1976, in which he was a child born of human parents, that lived alone with is mother after is father tried to kill him. When he grew up he becomes a NASA astronaut and later on a interplanetary policeman known as Star Lord. Years later he is given a new origin story as a child of human mother and alien father.
The movie will be directed by James Gunn of Super.
