After years of false stars, it seems that the TV adaptation of Locke & Key is finally gaining some momentum, this time at Hulu with Bates Motel and The Strain creator Carlton Cuse serving as showrunner and Marvel's Doctor Strange filmmaker Scott Derrickson set to helm the pilot.
Based on the IDW
comic created by writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke & Key follows three siblings, whom after the brutal murder of
their father move to their ancestral home, a New England mansion with fantastic
doors, and home to a relentless creature that will not rest until it forces
open the most terrible door of them all.

According to Deadline, Derrickson was the only the filmmaker Cuse sent the
script to, and if the series moves beyond the pilot the stage, is expected to
stay with it for the first season, directing various episodes before moving on
to direct the sequel to Doctor Strange.
Marvel has yet to
officially confirm Doctor Strange 2, but given the film's box office success
and the fact that the character is likely to play a big part in the future of
the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is only a matter of time until the studio
announces it.
