Captain
America: The First Avenger filmmaker Joe Johnston is set to direct the next
Narnia feature film, The Silver Chair.
The
film takes place after the events of 2010's Voyage of the Dawn Trader, when
Prince Caspian has become King Caspian. The story starts when Caspian's son goes
missing, and Aslan the lion sends Eustace Scrubb - played by Will Poulter ("The
Revenant") in Dawn Trader - and his boarding school classmate Jill Pope in
search of the missing prince.
Based
on the popular fantasy novels by C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia film franchise
- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008), Dawn
Trader (2010) - has grossed well over $1.6 B at the global box office.
David
Magee ("Finding Nerverland," "Life of Pi") will write the script.
Johnston's
other directing credits also include The Rocketeer in 1991, Jumanji in 1995,
