The Hunger Games grad and Me Before You star Sam
Claflin is the latest to board Jennifer Kent's follow-up to the cult horror
drama The Babadook.
Claflin, whose role is under wraps, joins Ewen
Leslie ("Daughter"), Aisling Franciosi ("The Fall"), Damon
Herriman ("Justified"), Harry Greenwood ("Hacksaw Ridge"), East Arnhem Land indigenous model
Magnolia Maymuru, and Aboriginal Djuki Mala dancer Baykali
Ganambarr.
Titled Nightingale, the horror-thriller is set
in 1982 Tasmania, and follows a 21-year-old Irish convict whom after witnessing
the murder of her husband and baby, decides to take justice into her own hands
and teams with an Aboriginal tracker to venture into the wild in order to seek
revenge.
Bron Creative will produce and co-finance the
sequel to the 2014 cult film with Bruna Papandrea's newly minted production
company Made Up Stories.
