Warner
Bros. has opted to delay the release of Aquaman for a few months.
The
superhero movie starring Jason Momoa will open on December 21, 2018, and not on
October 5 like initially envisioned by the studio.
The
new release date currently holds an untitled 20th Century Fox film from James
Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, presumably Avatar 2, however, last week the
filmmaker announced that Avatar 2 would no longer be released in 2018 as
originally planned.
The
same week will see the release of the PG-13 comedy Basterds starring J.K.
Simmons, Owen Wilson, Glenn Close, Ed Helms, Harry Shearer, June Squibb, Ving
Rhames, and Katie Aselton, as well as a Special Forces drama starring Chris Hemsworth
titled Horse Soldiers.
Directed
by James Wan, Aquaman also stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, and
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
