Although we are still desperate
for more information, Sony Pictures Animation has at least announced that the
yet untitled Spider-Man animated project will focus on Miles Morales and not
Peter Parker.
Son of an African-American
father and Puerto Rican mother, Miles takes the mantle of Spider-Man after the
death of Peter Parker in the Ultimate Universe. Now part of the main Marvel
Universe, Morales patrols the streets and skylines of New York City while
Parker takes his crime fighting abilities to other parts of the globe.
Created by Brian Michael
Bendis and Sara Pichelli in 2011, Miles made his debut on Marvel's Ultimate
Fallout #4 comic before joining the Disney XD animated series Ultimate
Spider-Man where both Donald Glover and Ogie Banks voiced him.
