Warner Bros. Pictures
and Village Roadshow have unveiled the first image from Gary Ross' upcoming
Ocean's 11 spinoff Ocean's 8.
"In summer 2018,
the tide will turn as (left to right) Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempts
to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met
Gala," a statement explains. "Her first stop is to assemble the
perfect crew: Lou (Cate Blanchett); Nine Ball (Rihanna); Amita (Mindy Kaling); Constance (Awkwafina); Rose
(Helena Bonham Carter); Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway); and Tammy (Sarah
Paulson)."
Ross, whose credits include
Pleasantville, Seabiscuit, The Hunger Games, and The Free State of Jones, is
directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Olivia Milch.
Opening in theaters on June 8, 2018, also stars Olivia Munn,
James Corden, Richard Armitage, Damian Lewis, and Matt Damon, who reprises his Linus
Caldwell role from the previous three movies.
Steven Soderbergh and Jon Kilik will produce the
all-female spinoff with Milch co-producing, and Bullock,
Susan Ekins, Diana Alvarez, Michael Tadross, and
Bruce Berman executive producing.
