Right on the heels of the first teaser, Warner Bros. Pictures (via EW) has unveiled
several new images from Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi classic
Blade Runner.
Written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, Blade Runner
2049 follows the initial story by Fancher and David Peoples based on
Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD
Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential
to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest
to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been
missing for 30 years.
Opening in theaters on October 6, 2017, Blade Runner
2049 also stars Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas,
Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, David Dastmalchian, Dave Bautista, Barkhad Abdi, Hiam
Abbass, and Lennie James.
Ridley Scott will serve as an executive producer
alongside Frank Giustra,
Bill Carraro, and Thunderbird Films' CEO Tim Gamble.
