Because it is still a
work in progress with director Ryan Coogler still laboring on the script,
Marvel Studios' Hall H Comic-Con panel for Black Panther didn't offer any
details regarding the story of the film. However, after the presentation was
over, Lupita Nyong'o, who is playing Nakia one of Wakanda's elite special forces
called the Dora Milaje, offered reporters the essential plot of the highly anticipated
film.
"The story of this Black Panther is- what am I allowed to say? –
The story is that the Black Panther’s leadership is really threatened by two
foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and
the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy."
From the Black Panther Comic-Con presentation, we know
for a fact that Michael B. Jordan is playing one of these villains (Erik Killmonger), but could
the other be Andy Serkis, who was noticeable absent from the panel, and who
made his MCU debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron as Ulysses Klaw, one of Black Panther's archenemies. We will have to wait for further developments to be sure, but
Serkis' Klaw certainly fits the bill to be the second villain.
Opening in theaters on July 6, 2018, Black Panther
also stars Danai Gurira as Okoye, another Dora Milaje, and Chadwick Boseman as the great king himself Black
Panther.
