Paramount
Pictures has released a brief teaser announcing the official titled for Michael
Bay's next installment in the Transformers franchise, which the studio has
scheduled to open in theaters on June 23, 2017.
Transformers:
The Last Knight is expected to go into production June 6 in Detroit followed by
several other locations around the World.
"Having
one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic
boost and a testament to the talent of the state’s production community,"
said Jenell Leonard, commissioner of the Michigan Film & Digital Media
Office when production plans were first revealed. "The production and
economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously,
the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility."
Mark
Wahlberg reprises his role as Texas inventor Cade Yaeger from Transformers: Age
of Extinction. Joining him are Isabela Moner ("100 Things to Do Before
High School"), and Jarrod Carmichael ("Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising").
Bay
is directing Transformers: The Last Knight from a script by Art Marcum ("Punisher:
War Zone"), Matt Holloway ("Iron Man"), Ken Nolan ("Black
Hawk Down"), Andrew Barrer ("Haunt"), Zak Penn ("X-Men: The
Last Stand"), Jeff Pinkner ("The Amazing Spider-Man 2"), and newcomers
Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Gabriel Ferrari, and Lindsey Beer.
