Now that David Lynch has wrapped up the long awaited new season of his and
Mark Frost's iconic and beloved surreal crime drama Twin Peaks, Showtime has
unveiled the full cast list for the show, and what a long, impressive, and surprising
list it is.
Of the names featured on the list, over 30 of them are returning cast
members from the original series, including Kyle MacLachlan, Ray Wise, and
Sherilyn Fenn, but the rest are completely new.
While Amanda Seyfried, Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Ashley Judd, Tom Sizemore,
Balthazar Getty, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Robert Knepper were expected from
previous casting reports, others such as Michael Cera, Eddie Vedder, Trent
Reznor, and David Koechner are a big, big surprise.
Taking place twenty-five years after the inhabitants of the quaint
northwestern town woke up to the shocking discovery that their homecoming queen
Laura Palmer had been murdered, Twin Peaks returns sometime in 2017 on
Showtime.
