With less than a month to go until its premiere, AMC has unveiled two new
pictures for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Preacher, featuring Dominic Cooper
("Marvel's Agent Carter") as Jesse Custer, Ian Colletti ("Phoebe
in Wonderland") as the disfigured Eugene Root, a.k.a. Arseface, and W.
Earl Brown ("Wild") as his father, Sheriff Hugo Root.
Based on a '90s Vertigo Comics series of the same name created by Garth
Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher follows Custer
(Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited
by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional
power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga), and an Irish
vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find
God.
Premiering Sunday, May 22 after the midseason finale of Fear the Walking
Dead, Preacher also stars Elizabeth Perkins (Vyla Quinncannon), Jackie Earl Haley
(Odin Quinncannon), Lucy Griffiths (Emily),
Jamie Anne Allman (Betsy Schenck), Derek Wilson (Donny Schenck), and Tom Brooke
(Fiore).
