Laura Harrier ("One
Life to Live") and Tony Revolori ("Dope", "The Grand
Budapest Hotel") have joined the cast of Jon Watts' ("Cop Car") Spider-Man:
Homecoming, where they will star opposite Tom Holland as the titular superhero,
Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Zendaya as a mysterious character named Michelle.
Marvel Studios and
Sony Pictures declined to comment but it seems that Harrier will play a key in
role in the upcoming reboot of the franchise, while Revolori will play Peter
Parker's classmate Manuel.
Michael Keaton is in
talks to play a villain in the film, and Robert Downey Jr. has revealed that he
is also in negotiations to join the film, but to reprise his role as Tony
Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man.
Written by John
Francis Daley ("Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2") and Jonathan
Goldstein ("Vacation"), Spider-Man: Homecoming will focus on Peter
Parker's high school days.
Spider-Man:
Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
