Earlier this week we
reported that Creed breakout actress Tessa Thompson had joined the cast of
Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok. At the time we didn't had the slightest indication of
who the actress would be playing, now however a rumor has surfaced claiming
that she will be playing one of the Valkyries.
According to the
Latino Review, Thompson will play Brunnhilde, the leader of the Valkyrior, who in the comics is a member of the Avengers and Defenders, which seems to align with
previous reports/rumors that she could very well appear again in Avengers:
Infinity War.
It is also being
reported that in Ragnarok, Brunnhilde will lead the Valkyrior and the souls of
the righteous fallen (including Heimdall) in a final fight against Hela and her
army of the dead.
In the comics, the Valkyries
roam the battlefields looking for those that have met a honorable death and
take then to Valhalla.
Also in Thor: Ragnarok are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom
Hiddleston as Loki, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce
Banner/Hulk, and Cate Blanchett as Hela (rumor).
What We Do In The Shadows director Taika Waititi is
set to start directing the film this coming June for a November 3, 2017
release.
