X-Men
actor Lucas Till has landed the lead titular role in CBS upcoming reboot of MacGyver,
where he joins CSI alum George Eads, and Fan Girl actor Joshua Boone.
Being
co-written by Paul Downs Colaizzo and Brett Mahoney and directed by David Von Ancken
the pilot will feature a 20-something Angus MacGyver, who is recruited
into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in
unconventional ways to help disasters from happening.
As previously
reported Eads will play a government agent with a bend towards conspiracy
theories, while Boone Gunner, MacGyver's best friend from high school.
Till
is reprising his Havok role from the X-Men franchise in Bryan Singer's upcoming
X-Men: Apocalypse, which will open in theaters on May 27.
Furious 7 director James Wan, who has been with to the
project from its very beginning, was at one point set to direct, however a
scheduling conflict with post-production on The Conjuring 2 forced him out of
the director chair.
Original series creator Lee David Zlotoff will serve
as an executive producer alongside Wan, Colaizzo, Henry Winkler, and Michael
Clear.
